Exhibition: Derek Jarman

The film "Blue," paintings and sculptures by the late British artist and filmmaker Derek Jarman are showing at the Serpentine Gallery in London until April 13th. "Blue" was the last film by Jarman before his death to AIDS-related complications in 1994. Jarman described his life and vision in the film, which consisted of saturated blue colour filling the screen with a soundtrack composed by Simon Fisher Turner and original music by Coil and other artists. The exhibition is curated by filmmaker Issac Julien, who will show the premiere of his new film entitled "Derek," centred on a daylong interview with Jarman.
